INBOUND TEAM TOURS (Teams travelling to Canada)

All tours travelling to Canada must be sanctioned by Rugby Canada and the destination province and subsequent Provincial Union(s). Furthermore, World Rugby requires that all teams must have Home National Union Sanctioning Approval prior to touring. We ask that the National Union sends all tour approvals directly to Rugby Canada at sanctioning@rugby.ca. A fully completed tour roster which includes all players (with full birthdates), coaches and support staff must be presented as well. Please note, Age banding guidelines must be followed as per World Rugby Policy. Please review guidelines here prior to sending your application: Click here.

General Liability and/or Public Liability Insurance Coverage from the inbound touring team must also be presented prior to departure. Please contact your insurance to get this certificate to then send to sanctioning@rugby.ca. Inbound Tours will not be approved without proof of insurance.

Note: either the club, the school, a liaison officer or the touring team can initiate the process to secure tour approval for an incoming tour.

The hosting Member Organizations of Rugby Canada must submit an Exhibition Game application for their Provincial Unions review for the approval (or rejection) of the Match with the incoming team.  Click here for the Exhibition Game Application. The Exhibition Game Application can not be approved until Rugby Canada has approved the team to travel to Canada once everything listed above is recieved.
